Intentional last minute gifts for home lovers, that feel thoughtful
Why intentional gifting matters at Christmas
If, like me you are running out of time and ideas for gifting, I’ve pulled together a few of my favourite things for the home.
Last minute doesn’t have to mean last thought. For home lovers, the most meaningful gifts are those that show care, restraint and understanding of how someone actually lives in their space. An intentional gift enhances daily rituals, brings beauty to the ordinary or quietly improves the atmosphere of a home.
Consider timeless objects rather than trends.
A hand thrown ceramic mug, linen tea towels in soft neutrals, a simple glass carafe that elevates everyday meals or that someone can place by their bed.

Scent is another lovely choice when selected thoughtfully. A natural candle or essential oil blend that feels calming rather than overpowering can instant change the mood of a room. My favourites are St Eval as none of their scents are overpowering and are all very natural and Suuna living who have a lovely range of candles and essential oils.

Coffee-table books on architecture, craftsmanship or gardens also make generous gifts, offering both visual pleasure and moments of pause.
If you’re shopping very close to Christmas, look for items that feel curated rather than rushed. Quality matches, a beautiful notebook or a small sculptural object that can sit quietly on a shelf. The key is choosing fewer, better things, pieces that feel at home. Glassette do some lovely things or visit your local antique shop or a local gift shop.

Gifts that cost nothing but mean everything
Some of the most intentional gifts don’t come with a price tag at all. Writing a poem, letter or short reflection for someone you love can be very thoughtful especially in a world saturated with stuff. You could frame a favourite memory or simple acknowledge a year that has been challenging or transformative. Other no cost gifts could be creating a playlist for slow mornings, offering your time to help someone or promising a shared ritual in the new year - a monthly supper or a regular walk.
At Christmas intentional gifting is less about filling space and more about creating meaning.
Thank you for being here and for supporting simple spaces by design this year. I hope this festive season brings you time to rest, reflect and enjoy the simple comforts of home.
Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a beautiful year ahead.
