Simple ways to refresh your home for Christmas. Dining room inspiration

I can’t quite believe it, but the festive season is just around the corner! This year seems to have flown by. I bought some wallpaper for our kitchen about a month ago and it’s still sitting in its box! However, I am determined to get it on the wall before the big day.

Whether you are hosting Christmas dinner or welcoming family to stay, now is the time to give your home a little lift before the guests arrive.

A few thoughtful updates can make your space feel warm, cosy and inviting. A home that feels calm, intentional and beautifully timeless for the season ahead.

My festive table

Your dining room is the heart of festive entertaining, so make it sparkle. Start by rethinking your lighting. A new pendant or statement shade can instantly elevate the room. Rockett St George have some amazing lampshades this year. They range from £50 to over £1000. This is one of my favourites.

A fresh lick of paint or some statement wallpaper can also create an elegant back drop for your Christmas table setting. You don’t have to paint the whole room, unless you want to, just freshening up a feature wall or wallpapering a fireplace can have an instant effect. I love Graham and Brown wallpaper. It’s so easy to use and very reasonably priced. There’s even a video on their website showing you the best way to hang wallpaper which is brilliant.

Dress the table with layers of texture, for example, a linen tablecloth, my favourites are Piglet in bed and Sharland England. Soft candlelight and seasonal greenery. Add personality with vintage glassware and a mix of metallic accents for a subtle festive glow.
